Is AMTC an agency?
No. AMTC is not an agency. In fact, we don't recommend you try for an agent without some Industry guidance and experience. Why? (1) Do you know who you are meeting and if they are legitimate? (2) If you aren’t correctly equipped and groomed, you could miss or hurt the right opportunity.
AMTC is a 35-year-old talent development company turned nonprofit ministry that finds, prepares and launches performers into media. AMTC exposes you to career-starting VIPs in film, fashion, music and theatre at the SHINE events. In addition, AMTC staff and grads form a safety and advisory net for your continued support.
What is AMTC looking for?
AMTC is looking for gifted actors, models, singers, dancers and comedians (ages 4 and up). We focus on two standards:
#1God’s Standard is seen in performers who raise a new standard of behavior in media: one that’s about love of others rather than love of self, one that understands the responsibility of celebrity.
#2Industry Standards are seen by professionalism and excellence. To get on a national-level playing field, a performer must meet or exceed the gifts and prep of others players.
How long does an in-person audition last?
An in-person audition (and information session) usually takes 3-4 hours.
What If There Is Bad Weather My Audition Day?
Auditions are rarely cancelled due to inclement weather. Should there be any cancellation, you will be notified by text and email. Otherwise, the show must go on!
Is AMTC only for Christians?
No, we've had people of others faiths participate happily and successfully. Many of the VIPs who attend are not Christians. We welcome all performers who want to see cleaner entertainment - and performers who understand the responsibility of celebrity.
What happens at an in-person SHINE audition?
The audition consist of two elements: (1) An Information Session: an insider look at the entertainment industry and the qualities needed to succeed. (2) The Audition: a talent scout will evaluate your application, personal style, star quality and overall impact (heart and attitude).
How will I perform?
Actors: Prepare a 30 second monologue, or read a script provided by AMTC.
Models: Walk for our Scout. Special shoes are unnecessary. Stay natural.*
Singers: Prepare a 30 second song without accompaniment. (Exceptions: songwriters may bring guitars or portable keyboards; rappers can bring a beat.)*
Dancers: prepare a 30 second choreographed routine. (Bring music and your own speakers or smart phone with reasonable volume)*
Comedians: prepare a 30 second stand up routine.*
*Models, singers, dancers and comedians must also prepare or read a 20-30 second script.
If I'm not an actor, why do I need to read a script?
Because today's entertainment industry requires cross-training. Models, singers and dancers also need to be able to speak well and do on-camera interviews. Talent alone is not enough. Personality, presence and verbal ability are expected.
If I do (or don’t) receive a callback, what happens next?
If you receive a callback, you'll be notified by telephone the following day and offered a role in an upcoming SHINE Tour event, as well as other membership options. In some audition cities, AMTC staff members remain on site an extra day to meet with callbacks, help them register and coaching begins. In other cities, the registration and consultation process happens online with face-to-face preparation to follow. *Please inquire about Day Two procedures in your upcoming audition city... if you are coming from out-of-town and considering a one or two-day hotel stay.
If you don't receive a callback: you will receive an email with advice.
Can I audition in more than one talent?

Can groups perform?
